The Agya

The Agya

The agya, the sadhana of The Path

Agya, that Sanskrit word

means "commandments"

The Path agya is the dharma of the Gautama Buddha, the Sakya. Not only of this awakened, others also, such as Patanjali, Lao-Tzu, guru Nanak, the one whose name has been forgotten and whom the aryas called "black" or krishna and so many more or less known.

Traditional spiritual practices all have a 'Sadhàna', a set of practices, such as postures, rituals, songs, ways of eating, etc. Sadhàna of The Path has four pillars: servicesatsangmeditation and angas.

Service is acting, throughout the day, remaining as centered as possible. This ''exercise'' is done thanks to one of the four techniques of meditation, of The Path, that of the 'Holy-Name'. In unconscious memory of service, Buddhism practices conscious breathing. It is a bit of that order. In the Dao-De-Jing, service is the "inaction" (Wu Wei). In the Bhagavad-Gita, service is "Service in Unity", "Devotional Service" and "Giving up the fruit of one’s acts".

Satsang is the listening or reading of words inspired by the Holy-Name, it motivates, inspires the disciple to practice assiduously and enlightens his mind about spirituality.

Meditation is about settling in comfortably and entering into contemplation. There are four different meditation techniques on The Path. In sitting meditation, we practice the four techniques one after the other. These techniques are taught during the Revelation, which is done by video conference, on Skype, for example, or WhatsApp and lasts more or less two hours.

The word "angas" refers to the spiritual recommendations given on The Path. This Sanskrit word means "subdivisions", "branches", according to the context. The angas are, on The Path, the important recommendations whose respect keeps the mind and the body capable of realizing The Path. The four pillars of The Path form the foundation on which The Path rests, with the teaching of the living guide. The teaching is satsang.
